American Battlefield Trust Park Day

  • 2660 Augusta Chatham Road Augusta, KY, 41002 United States (map)

POSTPONED FOR A FUTURE DATE!

We will do a cleanup at Coburn-Baker Cemetery, and depending on turnout, perhaps a cleanup at Payne Cemetery.

Coburn-Baker is the final resting place for one Civil War and one Revolutionary War soldier, and perhaps one Confederate trooper killed at the Battle of Augusta.

Meet at the cemetery, which is on Augusta Chatham Road (KY 19), 1.4 miles north of the AA. The cemetery is overgrown so we will need many hands and tools, such as brush cutters, pruners, chainsaws, and hand saws. Wear work clothes and bring gloves and eye protection. We will give a brief talk on the cemetery and soldiers, and then HAVE FUN working on restoring this cemetery and honoring these truly forgotten people.

After a couple of hours we’ll call it a day and head into Augusta for some grub and libations!
